Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction – MBSR (also step 1 in the MBSR professional education)
The 8-week program is approved for the educational therapy requirement by many colleges for those pursuing degrees in psychology or psychotherapy.
Is this a course for you?
The program is designed for those experiencing physical or psychological stress in work or family life. You may have many different types of physical symptoms. You want to feel better and more balanced or you feel bad and would like the tools to feel better. To participate in this program you must have attended an MBSR Orientation Session.
The program design
In the program you will learn how to directly relate to whatever is happening in your life and to take responsibility for it. Throughout the program you will be consciously and systematically working with your own stress, pain and illness – and the challenges and demands of your everyday life. You will discover the possibility to do something for yourself that no one else can do for you.

You will attend group classes for 2.5 hours, once a week for 8 weeks. You receive about 30 hours of direct instruction. The program is experienced based and contains body scanning, mindfulness meditation, mindfulness yoga and group reflection. Participants are expect to attend all 8 classes, do daily home assignments for 45-60 minutes each day with the help of recorded practices, and attend an all day silent retreat on the weekend after session 6.
Program sections are:
- The formal exercises are introduced (weeks 1-3)
- Theory behind what is happening (weeks 4-6)
- All day silent retreat (weekend after week 6)
- Program ends and possible beginnings – to establish practice in your daily life (weeks 6-7)

Where: Classes are held at our location on Barnhusgatan 22
Time: 5.30 pm
Date: The Fall program begins August 30th and ends October 18th. The all day silent retreat will be Sunday October 8th between 9-16.30 at the latest.
Cost: 5.900 SEK, VAT included for private persons. 7,900 SEK, VAT excluded for companies

If, after attending the Orientation Session, you choose to participate in the 8-week program you will be asked to complete a more substantial registration form where among other things you can describe physical and psychological problems, medications or previous injuries you may have sustained. To insure that you get as much as possible out of the program we want to reduce the chance of anything that may hinder your participation in the MBSR program. On occasion we will call for more information. If we do not see any obstacles you are warmly welcomed and will be sent a bill for the cost of the program.
